Believing that God’s grace comes to all people just as we are, we incorporate this message into the children’s faith life. An essential element of our curriculum is learning about God. Faith activities the students learn are the Lord’s prayer, age-appropriate creeds, saying grace before eating and the religious meaning behind the Christmas and Easter stories. They will also learn about loving God’s creation which includes nature, animals and human beings.
Chapel
Just as Jesus said in Matthew 19:11 “Let the little ones come to me,” the students attend chapel regularly with Pastor Paul. He shares with them bible stories and teaches them about the various celebrations in the church year. Pastor employs a hands-on, lighthearted approach to engage the students, encouraging each child to participate. Families are welcome to attend chapel and support their child’s Christian education.
Sunday School
We have an all-ages Sunday school on the first and third Sunday of each month, September to June. Sunday School takes place during worship. The children will hear a children’s message at the start of worship and be dismissed to be taught by our volunteer Sunday School teachers. The lessons are based on the scriptures for the day so parents and children hear a similar message. Lessons include songs, bible read, and crafts. The children return to the sanctuary for communion/blessing. All children are welcome!
Wee Worship Service
On the fifth Sunday of any month, we hold our “Wee Worship” service. This is a child-focused service, designed to engage the young and old alike. Children participate in various aspects of the service such as processing with the cross, bringing up the communion gifts and extinguishing the candles. We sing many songs taught in the preschool, hand gestures and all. Join us for an hour of joyful worship with your child!
